It is reported today that the American multinational technology corporation, Microsoft, has provided the Xbox app with new updates for Windows 11/10 that allow users to select a customized folder to install games, create desktop shortcuts and mod their games.

Reports have revealed that the gaming tech giant has been testing the newly introduced features for more than half a year now.

Although Xbox was previously very difficult to use on Windows, with Microsoft’s repeated updates and the renaming of Xbox Game Pass for PC to PC Game Pass, the once marginal application has also ushered in modern improvements and new features, further Improved user experience.

In contrast to the previous experience, where Xbox could only download games in a special WindowsApps folder (which users couldnt access) and couldnt modify internal files, all PC users Xbox apps will now be allowed to customize the path to the game installation folder.

According to foreign media, this will substantially simplify the game installation procedure in the Windows Store, thereby resolving many of the issues associated with installing games through PC Game Pass, and Windows users will also be able to back up game files, which is a very user-friendly feature.

Existing games are not required to be reinstalled; simply turn on your PC, right-click the game in the Xbox app, select Manage, and then enable the new installation and game management tools. Furthermore, any future games you install will be able to choose which folder they install into.

Users who want to be the first to try out new features can join the Xbox Insider Program. To do so, simply download and install the Xbox Insider Hub software. To get the preview builds, open the app, go to the Previews area on the sidebar, and select Windows Gaming.
