Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman compared development expenditure to show that the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government has spent far higher on development in the past eight years than the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance’s 10-year rule.“RBI data shows total developmental expenditure incurred by Modi government in 2014-’22 was Rs 90.9 lakh crore, far higher than is being alleged by some sections of the Opposition.
