Belagavi: BSC Textile Mall, said to be the biggest in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa, was inaugurated on Sunday by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at Millennium Garden in Tilakwadi, Belagavi.
Speaking after the inauguration, Bommai said, “Belgaum is the centre of north Karnataka and the government is encouraging Industrialists to develop the region as an industrial hub. BSC has created a name in Davangere and surrounding places due to its hard work, sincerity, honesty and best quality. I am confident this mall will also prove to be a success.
P. S. Shivkumar, partner of BSC, welcomed the gathering. B. C. Chandrasekhar, partner of BSC, said, “Our grandfather B.S. Nanjudappa, who came from a poor family and was working as a salesman at a textile shop, thought of starting something. With my grandmother’s guidance, he started a small business supplying clothes to villagers. Then he started in a small shop in 1938 in the name of my father B.S. Channabasappa at Davanagere. He worked hard and brought name and fame to BSC. Now, the fourth generation has entered the business and we have started
this textile mall.
Prabhakar Kore, chairman of KLE Society, said Belagavi was connected to Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa, and the mall would establish its name in a short while because customers believe in the sincerity and best quality of Channabasappa family.
