A Supreme Court judgement holding that the Gujarat government had the power to decide on remission for the convicts in the Bilkis Bano case was erroneous, senior advocate Rebecca John told Live Law on Saturday.John was referring to a Supreme Court verdict from May 13, which had ruled that the Gujarat government had the jurisdiction to decide on remission for the 11 convicts in the case.
