amã Stays & Trails Villa in Siolim, a new concept of home stays from the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), has been recognised as ‘Villa of the Year’ by MakeMyTrip at the recently held India’s Favourite Homestays Awards (IFHA) at Taj Resort & Convention Centre in Dona Paula. The IFHA is a people’s choice award to recognise and reward the growing community of home stay hosts in the domestictravel market.
Vincent Ramos, senior vice-president of IHCL for Goa, said, “We are humbled and honoured to receive this recognition. The home stay segment has picked momentum post the pandemicwith a strong preference for private stays and local experiences. amã Stays & Trails is India’s first branded product in the home stay market. We have nine villas in Goa and are working towards expanding the brand.�
Built in the 1940s, Villa Siolim is located in North Goa, in the village of Siolim. A charming five-bedroom villa that combines Goan-Portuguese architecture and modern comforts to provide ahome-like indulgence, it is surrounded by manicured lawns, paved walkways and slanted red tiled roofs with exposed beam ceilings.
Additionally, amã Stays & Trails Amibika Vilas in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, won ‘Heritage Homestay of the Year’.
To be held annually, the IFHA is India’s first traveller choice award for home stay properties. The awardee is chosen through a combination of jury assessment and consumer votes.
