The United States on Wednesday designated 10 countries, including China, Pakistan and Myanmar, as countries of particular concern in terms of violations of religious freedom.The other such countries are Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that these countries have engaged in or tolerated “systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom�?.This year’s list of designated countries of particular concern is mostly the same as last year, except that Russia has been added to it while Nigeria has been removed.We support open and just societies, in which all can enjoy freedom of religion or belief.
