Man hacks woman to death #IndiaNEWS #News
Nanjangud: A man allegedly hacked a woman to death with a machete and has also reportedly attacked those who came to the rescue of the woman besides trying to attack Police staff, who had rushed to the spot. The incident took place at Naviluru village in the taluk yesterday night.
While the deceased has been identified as Ningamma (50), the accused is 35-year-old Eeranna, a relative of the deceased.
Yesterday night, a quarrel broke out between Ningamma’s family and Eeranna’s family and when the matter escalated, Eeranna reportedly brought a machete and struck Ningamma repeatedly causing severe bleeding resulting in Ningamma breathing her last on the spot.
A few villagers, who rushed to the rescue of Ningamma were also attacked by Eeranna with the machete resulting in villagers identified as Suresh, Mahadevamma, Gowramma and Mahadeva sustaining injuries. The injured have been admitted to Nanjangud Government Hospital.
Meanwhile, Nanjangud Rural Sub-Inspector Shivananjashetty, Circle Inspector Lakshmikantha Talawar and staff, who rushed to the spot, were also attacked by the accused with the machete and luckily the Police personnel managed to dodge the attack and finally arrested Eeranna.
It is learnt that Eeranna, who had murdered his wife, was sentenced to jail and after coming out of jail, he is said to have married Ningamma.
