Granite processing MSMEs threaten to leave Tamil Nadu for Rajasthan #finance #StockMarketNEWS
Granite processing MSMEs threaten to leave Tamil Nadu for Rajasthan Chennai, 6 Jan (KNN) The inaccessibility of raw materials in Tamil Nadu has forced many granite processing units to relocate to the North state of Rajasthan, which brings the southern state a loss of investments of about INR 1000 crore.

For Rajasthan, this migration of granite processing units brings about investment worth INR 6000 crore.

However, the major factor that influenced this massive relocation is due to the state government not giving quarrying licenses.

To take up this issue with the Tamil Nadu state government, the Federation of Indian Granite and Stone Industry (FIGSI) is hosting a seminar today with the MSME minister TM Anbarasan, Industries minister Thangam Thennarasu and other senior officials and ministers.

The President of FIGSI, Iswinder Singh told the media that, our request is to give us raw materials as Tamil Nadu has the best stones having international demand.

He told BusinessLine that, we want to stop the migration of units from Tamil Nadu to other states but we can only flourish here if raw materials is given to us.

It also to note that the granite processing units generate huge rural employment with an estimation of 25,000 rural jobs.
