Job quota to hamper MSMEs and industrial growth in Haryana New Delhi, 20 Jan (KNN) Stakeholders and industrialists have cautioned the state government of Haryana about the disruption due to 75% job reservation law to locals in private sector in the state.
This matter has been brought to the notice of judiciary by three industry associations from Gurugram, Faridabad and Rewari, contesting that it goes against constitutional provisions.
Speaking with KNN India, Animesh Saxena, President, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME), and MD of Neetee Clothings Pvt Ltd based in Gurugram said, “This is detrimental to MSMEs since majority of their workforce is under Rs 30,000 salary bracket which comes under job reservation. Unfortunately local candidates are not available in desired numbers in many skill sets required. This will be a huge challenge for the MSMEs to fill the vacancies and plan expansion.”
“This will have a huge impact on the garment industry which is the largest employer in Gurugram and Faridabad, since majority of their work force is migratory since required skill local people are not available in Haryana,” he added.
Similarly, Manmohan Gaind, General Secretary of Manesar Industries Welfare Association (MIWA) stated how 99 per cent of the MSMEs will be in loss owing to this law.
The industry will suffer as migrant workers will move to cities like Noida for jobs, Gaind said.
The loss has also been felt in terms of expansion of businesses, as an internal survey by the Garments Exporters and Manufacturers Association has found that if the law is not repealed about 82 per cent may not consider Haryana for expansion. (KNN/ KT)
